Inspiration
Like many others I still don’t and probably won’t have a date for Valentine’s Day. So what’s better than trying to forget about by trying to make a dating platform!
What it does
I Found A Love uses Smart Contracts that enable users to put their profile for other users to see. Others users can then “buy”(just like a right swipe). The other user is alerted and can view their profile via the ETH address. If they both like it each other they can sign the contract and receive the transaction!
How we built it
Everything was build on a next sample app and hardhat. I wrote the Ethereum Smart Contracts in solidity and mostly everything else was in JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
This was my first time using Hardhat, so I was definitely a bit insecure to begin with. This was my first extensive smart contract. So it took a lot of googling and tutorial hopping to figure that out,
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am definitely proud of what I have accomplished over the weekend, but I am most proud of the fact that I was able to get the smart contracts up and running on the test net.
What we learned
I learned so much from this hackathon. Being mainly a front end person, it took a lot of tinkering to make the project. But I am happy to say I walk away with knowledge in Solidity and Hardhat!
What's next for I Found A Love…
I have many ideas! Firstly I want to improve the UI and add a messaging service between the “buyer” “seller”. Secondly establish notifications and even make it mobile based!
