Inspiration
Our project was inspired by the repetitive nature of toxic working culture — the illusion of progress, the promise of escape, and the quiet transformation of ambition into compliance. We wanted to explore how desire for freedom can be absorbed by the very system one is trying to escape.
What it does
This project visualizes a looping psychological journey. The protagonist attempts to leave his corporate environment by stepping into a space that represents freedom.
How we built it
The three of us divided the project into different creative roles, each bringing our own visual style and approach. -One focused on environmental photography and spatial composition. -One worked on visual sequencing and structural design to construct the loop. -One developed the symbolic and conceptual elements that drive the narrative.
Challenges we ran into
One major challenge was creating a convincing sense of continuity using still images. We had to carefully plan composition, framing, and transitions so that the loop felt intentional rather than accidental.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of successfully building a narrative loop that feels seamless and psychologically unsettling. The final reflection scene effectively closes the structure and reinforces the idea that the protagonist’s escape was always an illusion.
What we learned
We learned that collaboration does not require uniformity. Different creative voices can strengthen a project if there is a clear conceptual backbone. We also learned how structure, repetition, and symbolic imagery can communicate transformation without explicit explanation.
What's next for I don't have extra brain
If we were to continue developing this project, we would explore adding motion elements and deeper environmental transformation to strengthen the sense of immersion and repetition. Due to time constraints, we were limited to working primarily with still images and structural editing rather than fully developed animation or spatial transitions. In the future, we would like to experiment further with mixed media techniques and extended production time to refine the looping mechanism and enhance the contrast between reality and illusion.
