The problem your project solves
Because of the spread of the highly contagious COVID-19, more and more people are in danger of exposing themselves and the medical personnel to this deadly virus. Every visit to the hospital increases the chance of getting infected.
Doctors such as dermatologists, podiatrists, nutritionists and psychiatrists are having a hard time reaching the people who need their services. As a result, many are forced to take a break from their practice or even close their clinics.
So the problem goes both ways, doctors are left without patients, and patients are left without access to medical care.
The solution you bring to the table
Our answer to this problem is DocViser: a platform that connects doctors and patients outside the clinic.
How this works is by allowing doctors and medical specialists to register and complete their online profiles by entering qualifications and services they offer. In turn, registered patients can easily find and book appointments with them.
Patients can either request house-calls, or book online video calls. Either way, the purpose is to limit exposure to public spaces for both parties.
Another key feature of the platform is that it allows for donations. We know that a lot of people are financially affected by the Coronavirus, which is why we want to give people a chance to help each other in times of need. Those who can’t afford consultations can apply for donations, while those who want to help out can choose to donate as much or as little as they can.
What you have done during the weekend
During the 3 days of the EUvsVirus Hackathon, the DocViser.io team has validated the idea and concluded with sufficient material to develop the project further. The collected material will guide us through the next steps: -Competitor analysis -Business Plan -Wireframes -Proof of concept implementation -High fidelity key screens -Story mapping along with defined requirements
The solution's impact to the crisis
Social distancing has become a vital prevention tool during this pandemic. The risk of infection is much greater than ever seen before in any common virus.
Our platform supports the Stay Home initiative by bringing healthcare to people’s homes and connecting doctors to patients outside the clinic.
Additionally, DocViser takes into account the financial issues brought to us by the pandemic and offers donation solutions so that anyone can have a chance at healthcare.
The necessities in order to continue the project
Funding for the next 6 months for the development team in order to successfully deliver the platform.
The value of your solution(s) after the crisis
DocViser can be used long term in an emerging digital world where everything is transitioning online. Doctors and patients can stay connected no matter where on the globe each one is situated.
