Creating the Music Video for "I Can Be" by The Harmonic Hustlers
As a creative enthusiast passionate about blending music, storytelling, and AI-driven visuals, I embarked on developing a music video for my original song "I Can Be." This project was an exciting fusion of songwriting, AI image generation, and video editing, utilizing Freepik.com's advanced tools to bring a romantic, multifaceted narrative to life. Below, I'll share my inspiration, the building process, what I learned, and the challenges I encountered.
Inspiration The song "I Can Be" was inspired by the multifaceted nature of attraction in relationships—specifically, how a man can embody a wide array of traits that captivate a woman, from heroic strength and wild adventure to tender serenity and electric passion. I wanted to create a persona for the singer: a confident, versatile male who adapts to his partner's desires, symbolizing devotion and adaptability in love.
This theme stemmed from personal reflections on modern romance, where emotional flexibility and depth make connections enduring. Drawing from genres like neo blues-rock with soulful undertones, I crafted lyrics that evolve through verses, building from danger and shadows to intimacy and mystery, culminating in an empowering chorus: "Whatever you need, baby, I can be."
To realize the audio, I used Suno, an AI music generation platform, inputting my lyrics, persona details, and genre preferences to produce a polished track that captured the song's rhythmic heartbeat and emotional layers.
How I Built the Project I approached the music video as a visual storyboard that mirrored the song's structure, emphasizing the singer's transformative traits through dynamic scenes. Here's the step-by-step process:Conceptualization and Storyboarding: I broke down the lyrics into key verses, pre-choruses, choruses, and the bridge. For each section, I wrote detailed prompts describing scenes—like a shadowy hero emerging for Verse 1 or a passionate, electric touch in Verse 3—to represent the man's evolving personas.
Using Freepik's Text to Image Mystic 2.5 Flexible model, I generated high-quality still images. This AI tool allowed for flexible, mystical interpretations, producing vibrant, cinematic visuals with elements like dramatic lighting, rugged landscapes, and intimate close-ups to evoke the song's themes.
Animation and Video Creation To animate these static images, I fed them into Freepik's Image to Video - Various models including Kling Hailuo and the Wan 2.2 model. This step brought each scene to life with unique camera angles and movements tailored to the genre—such as camera tracking for the "wildest midnight ride" in Verse 1 or slow zooms for the tender "silence of the night" in Verse 2. The various video model capabilities ensured smooth transitions and added subtle effects like flickering lights or flowing motion, aligning with the alluring beat and energy of the track.
Editing and Post-Production The initial outputs were in 480p 512 and 720 resolution, so I upscaled them using online tools for sharper quality. I then imported the video clips and the Suno-generated audio track into Video editing software. Here, I synchronized the scenes to the music's timing—aligning heroic visuals with the chorus swells and mysterious elements with the bridge. To enhance the final product, I applied filters for clarity and sharpness, reducing any AI-generated artifacts, and tweaked the audio for better balance, boosting vocals and adding subtle reverb to amplify the emotional depth.
The result is a cohesive music video that visually interprets the lyrics, showing the man shifting personas to meet his love's needs, set against a backdrop of adventure and intimacy.
What I Learned This project deepened my understanding of AI's role in creative workflows. I learned how precise prompting is key—detailed descriptions in Mystic 2.5 Flexible yielded more accurate, evocative images, while Wan 2.2, Kling and Hailuo taught me to experiment with angles for narrative flow. Integrating tools like Suno showed me AI's potential for rapid prototyping in music, saving time on composition. On the technical side, I gained skills in video upscaling and editing, realizing how small tweaks like filters can elevate low-res AI outputs. Overall, it reinforced the value of iteration: generating multiple image variations helped refine the storyboard, and I discovered the importance of syncing visuals to audio beats for emotional impact.
Challenges Faced One major challenge was ensuring consistency across AI-generated elements—Mystic 2.5 Flexible sometimes produced a few strange images with similar prompts, requiring multiple regenerations to maintain a unified aesthetic. However, I do like the images produced with Mystic 2.5 Flexible. Wan 2.2's animations occasionally introduced unnatural movements, like jerky transitions, and random unpredictable camera movements which meant a little tweaking for the camera movement prompts. However, with unlimited Wan 2.2 it allowed for this.
Upscaling from 480p led to some quality loss, and aligning clips to the music was time-consuming due to slight timing mismatches. However I was happy with the quality considering it was only 480p and it proves you can still produce a quality music video without too much expense.
Freepik Premium Plus now offers Unlimited text to image creation and does offer unlimited 480p for Wan 2.2 video creation and Hailuo Minmax at 512p so it meant I could generate more than enough images and clips to align with the verses of the song. I have used Kling 1.6 Pro for other projects and find that great for quality and prompt adherence.
Despite a few minor hurdles, like the video only being lower res, overcoming them made the project more rewarding, teaching me resilience in AI-assisted creativity. This music video project not only brought "I Can Be" to visual life but also showcased how accessible tools like Freepik can empower independent creators to produce professional-grade content. I'm proud of the final piece and excited to explore more AI-music integrations in future works!
