Inspiration
We wanted to make an application that would be applicable to people on a road-trip, and that would keep people socially involved during a long journey.
What it does
The functionality currently is limited to people calling shotgun in the car, and all other users are notified.
How we built it
We used Java for the whole project, we did backer using tcp server sockets and frontend using swing.
Challenges we ran into
We ran out of time developing more features and found it difficult to have concurrent users.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We learned a lot and are happy with some of the threading we used in the project
What we learned
We learned more about frontend development and networking. We also learned how to work better on a team applying our skills to a project.
What's next for I Call Shotgun
We hope to implement a few more features that we were unable to during the weekend
