"I Am Your Prisoner" is an interactive narrative film that encourages viewers to explore the brain's role in constructing reality for the mind. Alone in the darkness of a tiny prison cell, the brain opens the doors to reality outside - but the nature of that reality is up to you alone.

You will choose the type of life you lead – will you seek danger or peace, love or adventure, power or subordination? You can explore many paths, but the only certain thing is that the experience is temporary - you'll have to decide before your time runs out.

Since our narrative centers around the mind as the master of the brain, choosing the aspects of life that it desires to seek out and experience, the viewer's gaze and natural inclinations will drive the editing, narrative, and progression of the film. We'll be exploring techniques to guide viewer focus and attention, allowing us to create 'invisible edits' that the viewer drives but may never be aware of.

“I Am Your Prisoner” will be shot on video with incorporated CGI elements. We're developing techniques, both practical and in post, to shoot and composite high-quality VR video on an indie budget. We're two indie filmmakers with a big excitement for virtual reality, and we're trying to make something beautiful on the cheap! As the Jam progresses, and after concluding the project, we'll be sharing our successes and failures with all of you to encourage innovation and growth in the VR filmmaking community.
