Inspiration

We were inspired by the idea that technological interventions can be used to positively shape the employee-to-employer relationship. Instead of seeing working from home as a potential harm that needs to be overcome, we viewed working from home as an opportunity to introduce a service that empowers employees to safely and actively shape their working life to what they need and want it to be.

What it does

Our app takes an employee through a gentle start of day check-in that measures the levels of autonomy, personal growth and connection they experience at work and their energy levels, satisfaction and physical health. These measurements are used to provide feedback and to inform management as to how the employee's current working environment, daily schedule and opportunities can be adjusted to promote employee satisfaction and retention.

How we built it

We built the project using React and React libraries.

Challenges we ran into

Our main challenges were lack of technical skills and lack of time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud how far we came without having any idea of whether we could actually create a product. how well we worked as a team and the determination we showed.

What we learned

We learned how to use Git, talk out problems together, encourage each other and be positive.

What's next for I Am Here

The next step for I Am Here is to develop a robust backend, to create an Employer account and to fine tune the user experience so that using the service is relaxing, empowering and natural.
