Inspiration
We were inspired to create this calculator because of a data set that was designed to predict the chances of someone having Hypertension
What it does
It takes in Age, Cholesterol, and BMI and puts it into a logical regression equation to calculate the probability of having hypertension
How we built it
We built it using python, and got some help from ChatGPT, Co-pilot, and YouTube
Challenges we ran into
We had mismatched skills, Alex was knew C++ and Sukaina and Michael were good a python. We ended up sticking with python.
We ran into several issues with GitHub, and trying to push and pull to the remote branches
We worked on many ideas before we got to this one such as, fish populations, a bad password generator, an application to determine how many anti-biotic resistant bacteria there would over time given an amount, and several others.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We knew very little about using Python to create a frontend interface, but we still managed to make a simple one, that functions.
What we learned
How to create a GUI with Python, Alex learned how to make a program about Python. Sukaina learned you could create a calculator with Python
What's next for Hypertension Calculator
We could add more features as it relates the other heart conditions, such as more variables, like smoking, blood pressure, and physical activity.
