Inspiration
Our inspiration for Hyperion came from our shared interest in supercars, racing games, and space exploration. We wanted to create a racing experience that goes beyond traditional tracks, allowing players to race through space surrounded by stars and planets.
What it does
Hyperion is a futuristic racing game where players drive powerful supercars on tracks throughout space. Players can compete against other racers, reach incredible speeds, and experience racing in a completely different environment.
How we built it
We started by brainstorming our concept and designing the gameplay around futuristic racing mechanics and space-themed environments. Our goal was to combine exciting driving physics with visually engaging tracks.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenge was the limited time available during the hackathon. Building a racing game requires vehicle controls, physics, track design, and environmental details. We had to prioritize the most important features while working together as a team.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of developing the concept for Hyperion and turning our shared interest in cars and space into a game project. Working together under time pressure challenged us to think creatively, communicate effectively, and make quick decisions.
What we learned
We learned the importance of teamwork, time management, and adapting our ideas to fit a limited development schedule. The experience also helped us better understand the challenges involved in game development.
What's next for Hyperion
Our goal is to continue developing Hyperion with more detailed space environments, additional supercars, improved driving physics, competitive multiplayer racing, and unique tracks inspired by different planets and galaxies.
