The Inspiration
The current tech landscape is a fever dream of "AI-everything." We noticed that if you take a mundane object—like a toaster—and slap a .ai domain on it, your valuation jumps by $4B overnight. HYPERBOL.IC was born from a desire to satirize this "VC Bro" culture and the art of the "yap," where buzzwords carry more weight than actual utility.
How We Built It
We built a chaotic, interactive playground using:
- HTML5/CSS3: To create the "Spiral Void" and a UI that feels like a high-end corporate hallucination.
- JavaScript: To handle the physics-based "capture" of floating data assets.
- Gemini 1.5 Flash: The engine behind the "yap." It takes mundane objects and generates unhinged, persona-driven pitches in real-time.
- The Valuation Engine: A logic script that inflates the user's "net worth" by millions every second to simulate hyper-growth.
The Challenges
The biggest hurdle was balancing the "chaos" of the UI with actual usability. We had to ensure the drag-and-drop "infection" mechanic felt satisfying while the background animations maintained a high-energy, disruptive vibe. Tuning the Gemini prompts to be "exactly 3 sentences of unhinged disruption" required fine-tuning to get the right "VC Bro" flavor.
What We Learned
We learned that the line between a satirical project and a real Silicon Valley pitch is thinner than we thought. More importantly, we mastered the integration of real-time LLM yapping into a gamified CSS environment, proving that while the valuation might be fake, the synergy is real.
The Math of Hypergrowth
Our valuation algorithm follows a simplified "Hype Variable" model: $$V_{now} = V_{init} + \sum_{t=0}^{n} (\Delta y \cdot \sigma)$$ Where $V$ is valuation, $y$ is the "Yap Factor," and $\sigma$ is the Synergy constant.
