Inspiration
I really enjoy listening to music, but sometimes get sick of the songs on my playlist, the more I listen to them. This project still plays the same music from a single playlist, but it mixes it up a bit by only playing certain parts based on their "hype".
What it does
The user simply enters in what type of music they like - for example, "Hip Hop". The app then crawls through Youtube and gets a playlist from the keywords, combines the audio from the videos in these playlists, and mixes it so that the songs only play for a small amount of time, and transition into each other based on their tempos and "hype" factor.
This can be for making "hype" videos (e.g new launches), music for a party, or anything in between.
How I built it
Python and libraries.
Challenges I ran into
Lots and lots of library dependency issues.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
It works! For the most part. I used it on my own playlist and it works pretty well, I like listening to it.
What I learned
All about audio editing and mixing, and how annoying Python libraries can be in a time crunch.
What's next for hYpER-EACT
Functionality for more than just YouTube (for example, Spotify), ML to determine the songs that you like and dislike, and edit the playlist accordingly, and a GUI are the most obvious steps
