Inspiration

We all love sports and feel HYPED whenever we see amazing things. And how cool would it be to be able to find every moment for your favorite player and watch all the best highlights all in one place.

Whether you're a fantasy football fanatic, an Olympic devotee, or sports betting fiend, finding and viewing amazing sports content is a problem for both distributors and consumers that we were eager to attack.

What it does

Using Twelve Labs search api, we allow fans to source top plays using natural language prompts: ie "Show me every Deebo Samuel catch from last night" or "Show me Simone Biles' highest scoring vault routines."

We then allow users to view and rate the HYPE level of these clips in a scrollable media feed rating game. The top performing clips are dynamically assembled into a countdown video called the HYPE TOP FIVE, which generates a consumable snapshot of the hottest, most hyped trending clips at any given moment.

Finally, for content license holders, we provide an upload portal where raw game footage can be ingested, categorized with Twelve Labs and then transformed into social media-ready clips with Opus Pro for display on HYPE REELS.

How we built it

Built in python, flask, and mongoDB, with love for the game.

Challenges we ran into

During our project, we dealt with some tricky issues related to timing and getting different parts to work together smoothly. Here's what we focused on:

-Keeping everything on schedule: We made sure all parts of the project were in sync and met important deadlines. -Combining information: We brought together data from different places, making sure it all made sense and was accurate. -Making processes work together: We streamlined how things got done, considering that some tasks took longer than others.

What's next for Hype Reels

Full Integration and UI Interface. Integrations with popular distributor APIs (ESPN, DraftKings, etc) and real-time sports stats. Drop it onto reddit and watch it go viral on game day.
