Inspiration
Momentum is scattered across repositories, AI model pages and market tables. Hype Bubbles makes those signals visible in a field of interactive ranked bubbles.
What it does
Six Bubble Universes separate GitHub, Models, Crypto, Sponsors, Competitions and Airdrops. Bubble size reflects the displayed activity metric, while colour and rank show movement. Competition and Airdrop boards clearly show when reviewed data is still collecting.
Hype Radar lets everyone watch three bubbles free. Hype Radar Pro expands this to 50 watches and 200 on-device movement records. No app account is required. Watches and history stay on the device.
How we built it
The iPhone app uses Capacitor, React, TypeScript, Canvas and d3-force, with Cloudflare services supplying public board data. RevenueCat manages monthly and annual StoreKit subscriptions and the Hype Radar Pro entitlement. Restore Purchases and subscription management are available in Settings. Eligible Apple Accounts can try the Annual plan with a seven-day introductory trial.
Challenges and lessons
The biggest design challenge was giving the bubble field enough room on a phone while keeping the universe tabs and period controls accessible. We refined the layout, rank badges and logo fallbacks, then tested the purchase and restore journey on a physical iPhone through TestFlight. Apple review also highlighted a missing EULA link in the store description, which we corrected before approval.
What we are proud of
Hype Bubbles 1.1 (4) has passed App Review and its release has been initiated. The subscription expands a useful free workflow. Sponsorship remains separate from organic rankings.
What is next
Keep improving the mobile experience and publish more reviewed Competition and Airdrop records as verified data becomes available.
