Inspiration

The project was born from desire to produce a glove that respects the environment and hygiene. The problem we want to solve is the contact that you can have with bacteria, when you take off your common gloves. In fact, when you take off your gloves, your hands often get dirty, so we developed a solution to this problem that we all have.

What it does

We tried to solve a common problem. In this moment of crisis the most important thing is hygiene, so why not start from an object that we all use? This is why we wanted to create an alternative to the traditional disposable glove, that would respect the environment and be more hygienic. So we designed this simple glove, but it manages to solve a problem that we often underestimate. We designed a disposable glove, made of recyclable materials and very resistant. The innovation is in the hook that is at the level of the back of the hand. The glove and hook are made of Bionitril, very resistant, elastic and waterproof material, latex free, adapteable, easy to suspect and has a perfect adhesion to the skin. Above the hook there is a transparent film: "Traceless", or a double-sided washable tape, made by the company Leechenxi. This transparent tape "protects" the hook from bacteria, so as to ensure the user the hygiene of his hands. The film will be removed when the first glove is removed, so touch the hook with your hand clean.

How we built it

The glove consists mainly of two materials: bionitril and transparent tape. We found that most people have difficulty removing gloves, because each time they have to touch the outside of these. The bionitril material is biodegradable, with uniform quality that can adapt perfectly to the hands. Is latex-free, silicon-free and does not cause allergic reactions. Has a high level of comfort and excellent tensile properties, puncture resistance and wear. The particular formulation of the bionitril material allows to obtain a very short bio-degradation time while respecting the environment. Traceless tape, is a double-sided tape washable, reusable, easy to remove, non-slip, made by the company Leechenxi. Also can be used on any type of surface and object. The tape can be washed with warm water and still maintains its adherence. This has both adhesive parts, so that you can attach to any point. Traceless is transparent and has a small thickness (2mm), so as to be almost invisible on surfaces.

Challenges we ran into

We realized that most people have difficulty removing gloves, because each time they have to touch the outside of these. We wanted to solve this problem that we all have, with a simple but effective solution. In addition, another challenge that we wanted to meet is that of respect for the environment, that’s why we chose a recyclable material to compose the glove. Our product is therefore intended to respect the environment and protect the health of people.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The thing our team is proud of is that they have created a common object, indispensable in this time of crisis, that can solve a problem. In fact, the virus Covid-19 can come into contact with our organism through the bacterium that enters in our mouths, most of the time we make it enter through the hands. Our system ensures the hygiene of the hands, because they never come into contact with the glove exposed to bacteria or external agents. We are proud because we were able to find a solution with a simple, but effective solution, because sometimes simple things are the best.

What we learned

During these days we have learned a lot of useful information about hygiene in this time of crisis, because being cautious is a fundamental factor. We also met experts and mentors who opened our eyes to more possibilities to create new solutions at Covid-19. Another important aspect is that you can start from a very complicated idea, full of technologies and innovations, but with study and research you can find several effective solutions, which are much simpler and more efficient. We learned to listen different fields: from medicine to marketing, to create a product that can satisfy the market and respects the environment and people.

What's next for ANTIBACTER G

We would like to create new gloves, implementing technologies, experimenting with new materials. Also we would like to create gloves, masks and other tools to protect people from the virus. We are developing new gloves, with materials that react to heat, to contact, to meet the needs of everyone. We believe that today gloves are an essential accessory for the health of all and we want to bring more and more models to the global trade, always respecting the environment and the standards that we care most.
