Project Name: Hygieia
What is the purpose of this project: help people keep track of what they eat everyday and help push people to eat healthier through eating on time and eating the right amount
How is our project related to challenges:
Best Health Hack Our project helps to guide users to build a healthier
Best Productivity Hack
How the user will use the project:
Hygieia’s main page lets the user record what they eat for each meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks) and when they have their meals, then the in-built Python code will automatically calculate the total amount of calories intake. Then the calculated value will be compared to the stored recommending value of calorie intake for each meal. If the user eats in the recommended time slot and the calorie intake also falls within the recommended range, then Hygieia will reward the user through leveling up the little H in the app. However, if the calorie intake is more or less than the recommended value, then Hygieia will prompt the user to exercise more or eat more to help them adopt a healthier eating habit. The unique and interesting part of our designed app Hygieia is that when the user is not eating healthily, his/her assigned little H will react according to his/her eating habit, i.e. leveling up if user is continuously eating healthily and looks sad if the user if developing an unhealthy eating habit. Moreover, user can get motivated to record their daily food intake as Hygieia will award users with coins for daily log in. Thus, Hygieia promotes healthier eating habit and encourages users to record their meals on a daily basis.
What inspired us:
Eating healthily is a goal for everyone who wants to pursue a healthy lifestyle
What we learned:
How to use Flutter, how to use Python to code, how to build an app from scratch and work as a team
How we build the project:
Using a mix of Flutter, Dart, and Python
The challenges we faced:
We were all new to Flutter and the language Dart, and we are all new to Hackathons with no previous experience, so we are all learning when we are creating our project.
