HyGenie

Inspiration

During this cold season, there have been many coughs and sniffles that make people turn heads. People are afraid to confront the fact they may be sick because they do not want to see the doctor and miss out on education. HyGenie is a quick, accessible, non-intimidating way to assess symptoms, take action, and spread hygiene awareness.

What it does

HyGenie allows users to take a short quiz to estimate their likelihood of having the flu. Depending on their results, they can learn about symptoms, prevention, and care. Additionally, they can understand hygiene habits through a fun mini-game where you “destroy germs”. For further details and questions, there is a FAQ and contact information.

How we built it

Our frontend uses React and Vite for a modern and reactive user interface.

Challenges we ran into

The germ mini-game was challenging as it required timing and state management. There was asynchronous timing, randomized element positioning, and interactive feedback.
