Inspiration :
We got the inspiration from a girl who had always admired the lush, vibrant gardens her grandmother tended. Now, living in a tiny apartment with minimal sunlight, she yearned for a touch of green.
What it does:
We create an app with clear and detailed care guide with visuals and specific instructions. Providing automated nutrient dosing system to ensure consistent feeding even when she's away. We also consider a sensor with notifications to prevent future maintenance issues.
How we built it:
We did primary and secondary research about hydroponic systems, which helped them create a vision and strategy. We figure out the issues faced by new users. Based on the vision, they began our ideation journey. We then built a low fidelity prototype.
Challenges we ran into:
We had to deep dive to know more hydroponic system because we were not sure about hydroponic, how it works; the innovation behind it.
Accomplishments
Accomplishment that we're proud of is we came up with the solution which reduce the frustration related hydroponic system and manual refilling and adjustments. We are able to add automated recommendation for each plant's elements such as light, nutrients, pH levels, temperature, based on each plant's growth.
What we learned:
We learned that with a blend of knowledge, technology, and a touch of planning we can cultivate her indoor herb garden by the use of significant elements for the plants need.
What's next for HydroHarvest:
If that's a success we can add motivation factor for people to go for hydroponic system considering climate change, maximization of space, and less labor.
