Inspiration
The inspiration behind Hydro-AI is a deep commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable water quality management. Our project is driven by a strong desire to safeguard public health, enhance operational efficiency, engage communities, and support sustainable development through technology and innovation.
What it does
Our AI-powered water quality monitoring system uses artificial intelligence to continuously track, analyze, and alert stakeholders about water quality, ensuring safe, reliable, and sustainable water resources.
How we built it
We built machine learning model utilizing advanced machine learning algorithm to analyze water quality parameters like pH levels and contaminants continuously. The model is integrated into a Streamlit application where users input sensor data, and it provides real-time results. This application is deployed on Streamlit Cloud. Additionally, we designed a frontend landing page using Astro Js and Tailwind CSS, featuring a carousel explaining our application's purpose and a Streamlit button for direct access to the application.
Challenges we ran into
Data Shortage: Insufficient and high-quality data can be a significant roadblock in developing an AI-powered water quality monitoring system. Limited access to historical and real-time data can hinder model training and accuracy.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully developed a working prototype of our AI-powered water quality monitoring system within the limited timeframe of the hackathon. This prototype demonstrated the feasibility of our concept and the potential for real-world application.
What's next for Hydro-AI
Data Enrichment: One of our top priorities is to address the data shortage issue. We plan to explore partnerships with environmental agencies, research institutions, and local communities to access more comprehensive and high-quality water quality data. This will enhance the accuracy and reliability of our AI models.
Model Refinement: We will continue to fine-tune our machine learning algorithms by incorporating more data, exploring advanced techniques, and optimizing model performance. The goal is to make our system even more precise and adaptable to varying environmental conditions.
Research and Innovation: We will stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI and water quality monitoring technology to ensure that Hydro-AI remains at the cutting edge of the field.
