Inspiration
The issue we have chosen to address is a significant one, as reducing our ecological footprint and the negative impact on the environment is essential to sustainable development, and it can only happen when we change the way we produce and consume. Hydroponics, specifically, can increase the likelihood of improving food quality and safety, as well as aid in shifting towards a more resource-efficient economy. We also aim to create more eco-friendly methods of farming that do not require pesticides or other potentially harmful chemicals.

With social good as our motivation, we bring forth an application capable of bridging the prolonged gap between technology and sustainable agriculture.
What it does
We aim to solve the issue of irresponsible and unsustainable consumption and production through the use of hydroponics. We plan to utilize AI sensory technology for the completely independent hydroponic farm our project is based on. Devices such as AI-infused thermocouples and pH meters will be used in our prototype.
How we built it
We built our app prototype with Figma.
Challenges we ran into
A problem we are currently facing is figuring out how to operate the AI technology we envision for our hydroponic farms. Although the coding skills required to operate the technology might be above our current level of fluency in programming, we are motivated and eager to learn in order to transform our vision into a reality capable of helping and saving millions of lives.

What we learned
We should utilize technology and create solutions that can impact lives not just today but our future generations as well. Hydroponics is a growing concept even today, we envision making it smarter and simpler by using AI.
What's next for Hydro.AI
The next phase after properly implementing the AI technology into our project is scaling up the hydroponic farm. We've already refined the steps needed to create the farm, however, we want our project to have the impact we know it can have. An added benefit of hydroponic farming is that it does not require much space, as the plants can be grown on a vertical axis, which allows for better use of space. Having said that, our main focus going forward would be utilizing hydroponic farming on a massive scale.
