Inspiration
Coming from a rural community where water scarcity is a daily challenge, our inspiration to solve this problem stems from firsthand experience. Highlight of our story My community is supplied with clean water and we're not pleased with the water state, (the taps are installed in every yard but water can only come once in a week) the problem we face is, The people responsible or hired to open the water pump weekly, opens on days that do not favor everyone. During week days its only the unemployment or old people that are satisfied leaving the employed with no water. When he opens on Sundays people go to church and can't collect water. So we always desire to know the exact date and time to stay prepared and plan our days thoroughly. In a house with employed parents and school kids its hard to have water in our tanks always cos we tend to miss the time scheduled for our village section, which then forces us to fetch water from the nearby rivers and section.
What it does
Our system aims to efficiently manage and distribute water resources, ensuring fair access and effective utilization across communities.
How we built it
Technology stack we are going to use: frontend development>> JavaScript and React Backend development>> node.js Express.js Additionally we're going to use MongoDb,Firebase and Google Maps APIs Visual studio code as our IDE
Challenges we ran into
1.Balancing Technological Innovation with Cultural Sensitivity-We had to ensure that HydraHub was not only technologically advanced but also sensitive to the cultural nuances and beliefs of the communities we were designing for/had in mind. This required extensive research and collaboration with local stakeholders that were not easy to find to ensure that HydraHub is appropriate and effective.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Certainly what we are proud of as team is the our project as a whole, but in point form: -Realizing our community crisis and inventively trying to solve it as Girlcoders. -Developing a user-friendly mobile/web app for to enhance the efficiency and communication in delivering and receiving water. -Implementing real-time route guidance and order management features, optimizing delivery operations.
What we learned
We learned that technology can be a powerful tool for driving social change and addressing complex problems. By leveraging technology in innovative ways, we were able to create a solution that has a meaningful impact on the community.
What's next for HydraHub
The next improvement that we are looking forward to implement in the future is a Driver Map System, for drivers, we will develop a mobile application integrated with features for route guidance, order details management, real-time updates, delivery confirmation, issue reporting, and seamless communication with the central system.
