Inspiration
Ari's sister expressed a desire for the implementation of iBeacons at her school, and Ari recognized how long attendance takes in her yoga class.
What it does
Our app shows teachers which students are and aren't in a class, and allows all users to see which teachers are at their desks and available. Teachers can "go incognito" to be unavailable even when the beacon recognizes that the teacher is at their desk.
How we built it
We configured beacons and used Xcode's storyboard extensively to call functions written by Ari in swift.
Challenges we ran into
We had difficulty with constraints and with buttons merging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We finished on time! We have configured low-energy beacons and a realtime database.
What we learned
Most of us didn't know any swift before this hackathon.
What's next for HW Beacon
We want to implement a busy feature and a connection to didax.
