What is HustleMap?
HustleMap is a live, map-based app built to solve a major problem happening right now in neighborhoods across the country. Walk down almost any main street or look inside commercial office buildings, and you’ll see the same thing: empty rooms, quiet desks, and space just sitting there doing absolutely nothing.
At the very same time, there is a massive wave of independent creators, local makers, and solopreneurs trying to start small businesses. They want to launch a fashion line, make custom shoes, or prototype a physical product. But they are completely stuck. Why? Because the tools they need—like heavy-duty, commercial T-shirt printers, industrial 3D printers, or leather-stitching gear—cost thousands of dollars, and nobody will lease them a professional workspace without a massive, multi-year contract.
HustleMap steps in and fixes this loop. We connect the people who have underutilized space and idle machinery with the creators who need them by the hour. It turns quiet neighborhood offices into active, micro-manufacturing spaces. Inspiration
Commercial office vacancies across North America sit at historic highs, leaving property owners with massive overhead on unmonetized real estate. Simultaneously, millions of everyday solopreneurs want to launch physical product brands (apparel, custom footwear, physical prototypes) but are locked out due to the thousands of dollars required to purchase heavy-duty manufacturing machinery or commit to long-term commercial leases.
Furthermore, existing shared spaces face critical vulnerabilities: the moment external creators plug personal storage devices (USB/flash drives) containing design files into shared networks, they introduce severe malware, ransomware, and virus risks to the host infrastructure.# What it does
Designed from the perspective of an Architect and Creative Director, HustleMap uses Google's next-generation developer tool suite to manage full-stack implementation without raw coding:
Google AI Studio: Engineered the underlying structural prompt logic, testing how the AI categorizes physical machine listings and processes secure scheduling parameters.
Stitch: Utilized natural language user-flow prompts to instantly generate our clean, highly scannable, mobile-responsive map and booking interface.
Google Antigravity: Directed autonomous teams of AI coding agents to establish our database infrastructure, map visual API layers, and program the automated sandbox environment triggers. How we built it
The Shared-Space Security Risk: Having people walk into local offices and plug random flash drives into expensive machines is a total cybersecurity nightmare. We had to figure out how to sandbox and clean-wipe the system so nobody catches a virus.
The Upfront Cash Barrier: Everyday solopreneurs are totally priced out of buying $5,000 commercial printers or locking into long-term building leases just to start a business.
Wasted Real Estate & Idle Gear: Landlords are sitting on tons of empty office space, and local shops have high-end machines just gathering dust 70% of the time because there wasn't a direct way to connect them to creators.
To fulfill the explicit XPRIZE requirement of proving real-world transaction velocity, HustleMap deploys a two-pronged, high-margin revenue model:
The Usage Split: A flat 10% platform facilitation fee on every machine and station booking hour processed through our application.
Damage Protection Pool: A mandatory $3.50 micro-insurance fee added to every rental hour, building a scalable, pooled reserve fund to cover machine maintenance and wear-and-tear for our hosts.
By unlocking idle machinery and vacant spaces, our 12-month scaling target aims to reclaim 250,000+ square feet of un-leased commercial real estate, launch over 5,000 independent solopreneurs debt-free, and inject over $12,500,000 back into local host small businesses.
