Inspiration
Our team was deeply moved by the devastating impact of hurricanes on communities. We wanted to empower people with knowledge, and safety tips, to help them prepare and stay safe during these natural disasters. Building the Hurricane Web Guide was our way of making a positive difference and providing a valuable resource in times of crisis.
What it does
Our Hurricane Web Guide, motivated by a desire to enhance hurricane preparedness, informs Miami residents with forecasts, hurricane category insights, and a mapped network of local shelters for their safety during storms.
How we built it
HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Challenges we ran into
Responsiveness of site, learning new languages, and working as a team to tackle hurdles in coding language proficiency.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Working as a team to accomplish a task, in which we all had different backgrounds while effectively communicating our ideas, collaborating, and expanding our knowledge as individuals.
What we learned
I learned how to use APIs effectively, gaining an even better understanding of Display: Grid within HTML and CSS. This knowledge has expanded my capabilities in web development and data integration, enabling us to create more dynamic and user-friendly websites.
