Inspiration
Hunger is a big problem in today's world. This could be a sustainable way of serving the society while also ensuring that surplus food in our house gets used for a good cause.
What it does
Keeps tracked of kitchen ingredients and food items stocked at home. Alerts neighbors that we have surplus food that they could come and take. Not only does this prevent wastage of a precious resource but we can also serve our neighbors. Not only does it keep a track of readymade food but also of raw ingredients and their expiry dates and dates of purchase. Based on ingredients stocked, the app also suggests popular cooking recipes to the user.
How we built it
Using Flutter and Dart.
Challenges we ran into
Backend storage could not be implemented.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
UI successfully built with alerting capability and ability to add ingredients to existing stock. Also the social relevance of the project.
What we learned
Using our skills to contribute towards sustainably making a difference is a very rewarding cause. We struggled with the backend but also got a chance to sharpen our skills on mongodb, firebase, android studio react.js and mysql.
What's next for Hungryy
