Inspiration

We wanted to help people get food while cracking down on food waste, and realized this could be solved by more sharing.

What it does

This project allows individuals, food deserts, and donation organizations to connect with restaurants, grocery stores, catering organizations, and anyone else that serves food.

How we built it

We used Firebase and React, with a lot of NPM tooling.

Challenges we ran into

We found out that we did not have previous knowledge of firebase and had to learn the toolings.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that we were able to learn and complete a whole application and its toolings by the deadline while working with a rigid set of setbacks.

What we learned

We learned a lot of DevOps, Firebase, NPM, React, how to program for the web, and security.

What's next for Hunger Helper

Our next steps are to clean up our understanding of the process as well as the directory structure and how we can continue making beautiful webpages with React.
