Inspiration
The inspiration of the project came from the growing need for having humidity sensors after people are experiencing chronic cough issues after the covid 19 pandemic. If we could have a device that let the user know when the temperature or humidity in the room is higher than what they want it to be, life would be more convenient and as humidity impacts and exacerbates cough issues, it is a very timely project.
What it does
The device lets you set a threshold for temperature and humidity through your phone. If the threshold if lower than the temperature or humidity of the room it will sound an alarm. The threshold of the temperature and humidity can be changed using the application on your phone where the up arrow indicates an increasing thrshold in an increment of 1 and the down arrow represnts a decreasing threshold in increment of 1
How we built it
I used a temperature and humidity threshold, a buzzer, and a Bluetooth adafruit application. The code is built so that if the humidity threshold is less than the humidity in the room an alarm will buzz and let the user know.
Challenges we ran into
Challenges I ran into were relating to buzzer output. I fixed it by connecting the buzzer to a resistor.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Proud of the way the final project turned out the way I expected it to and that it has so many application in daily and medical use
What we learned
Learnt a lot about Bluetooth connectivity through the Adafruit app
What's next for HumTem Alarm
