Humantic

Inspiration

We were inspired by the truly great amount of log in pages that websites had! However, we were curious about the legitness of these CAPTCHAS that you may usually see when logging into websites such as LinkedIN. Thus, we decided to make a program that tackled these topics and make them even safer for privacy and authenticity of the user.

What it does

Humantic is a platform built to enhance user privacy by introducing advanced CAPTCHAs during the login process. In our demo, users can explore the variety of CAPTCHAs they may encounter on sites like Humantic. These thoughtfully designed CAPTCHAs not only bolster security but also actively engage users, creating a more interactive and immersive experience that encourages longer time spent on the platform.

How we built it

We built this program primarily using React, with Next.js supporting small backend functions, while our main focus was on creating a seamless and interactive frontend experience. Using TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, we not only developed the core functionality but also designed fun, engaging CAPTCHAs that make logging in both secure and enjoyable. You’ll see firsthand how these interactive elements enhance user engagement in our demo.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the time and effort we dedicated to completing this project! As our first Hackathon, this experience was both challenging and incredibly rewarding. We take pride not only in finishing on time but also in enjoying the creative process and having fun while building this program.

What we learned

Through this Hackathon, we gained hands-on experience in both building a web app and creating a backend to support it. Facing a real time crunch for the first time, we learned valuable lessons in time management and prioritization. We discovered how essential preplanning is, realizing that having a clear plan and visualizing the project before diving in makes execution far more efficient. This experience gave us a deeper understanding of how projects truly come together.

What's next for Humantic

Our goal is to provide the next generation of engaging yet challenging CAPTCHAs that companies can use to enhance both security and user engagement. By offering longer and more interactive CAPTCHAs than those found on typical websites, we help reduce fake logins and identity theft while encouraging users to spend more time interacting with the platform.
