Inspiration

HumanAIze is inspired by our desire to help people improve one of the most important aspects of their lives, their relationships.

What it does

HumanAIze acts a neutral digital relationship counselor. It allows two parties to share how they are feeling about their relationship privately. The counselor asks questions to each user in the style of a Gottman trained relationship therapist to elucidate the health of the relationship. The counselor offers feedback along the way and provides a detailed summary with actionable steps both parties can take to improve the relationship at the end of the counseling session. Both the questions asked and the recommendations given by the counselor take into account what each user shares privately with the counselor as the session proceeds. Keeping responses to the counselor's questions private enables users to feel comfortable being completely honest about their feelings without the fear of upsetting the other concerned party, this in turn fosters better counseling outcomes as the real issues are more likely to be uncovered.

How we built it

HumanAIze is a concept with a complete pitch deck that delves into the overall business strategy, economics, and innovate approaches to mass adoption developed by Nick McNelly. During team formation Nick and Tara both agreed they should build a relationship counselor utilizing AI. First Chatgpt was prompt engineered to act as a relationship counselor. Then gpt was used to help develop the code required to use the messaging app Telegram to serve as an interface for the two parties during their counseling session.

Challenges we ran into

After instructing gpt to act as a relationship counselor additional prompt engineering was required to have the AI behave more like a counselor would in the real world (ie: asking one question, awaiting a response, then continuing to ask additional questions until the session reached a conclusion). Utilizing the telegram bot api was helpful in creating the desired dynamic for our counseling sessions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The app serves as a preliminary example of what is possible with additional time and resources. Creating separate conversational threads between each user and the therapist, while having the therapist still take into account the responses of both parties, showcases the ability for AI to serve as a mediator, arbitrator, counselor or other neutral party attempting to solve disputes, conduct negotiations, or any other activity requiring or benefiting from nuanced relationship management.

What we learned

We learned that chatgpt can serve as the therapist and developer with enough iteration. Taking an engineering approach to developing the prompts in a more thorough manner was extremely useful in generating the desired outcomes.

What's next for HumanAIze

HumanAIze is interested in raising an initial round of funding to support further development and expansion of the application. This hackathon demo striclty serves to showcase one of many possible innovative use cases in a new segment of applications. With scaling many more opportunities focused on interactions amongst persons will become possible. Not all relationships are romantic, but all relationships can benefit from helpful digital management tools. Consider the possibilities and come talk to us to find out more about our game plan.
