HueHarmony applies the concepts of color theory to the workplace to see past gender, racial, educational, and background-based stereotypes via personality analysis.

Inspiration

We were inspired to create this website to help tech companies see through surface level stereotypes in their colleagues in order to assist the process of getting to know who you are working with in a different visual way. Stereotypes in the tech world often make a new work environment intimidating or unwelcoming, especially when starting a new project or when you are grouped with a new set of people.

What it does

We use the personality analysis quiz to generate an "aura" for your strengths, personality traits, and your dynamic in a group environment. This can help others understand you on a deeper level and help you know what other people you would benefit from working with.

How we built it

Although we were unable to code this idea to life, we've successfully created a prototype of it using Figma's various features.

Challenges we ran into

Aside from scaling our project to ensure we came up with an MVP by the end of the hackathon, our main challenge was coming up with a solution to our problem that was able to encapsulate an entire individual using as few resources as possible. Although there are many personality tests out there that attempt to address similar problems, we wanted to connect people in a unique way.

We're proud of exploring and challenging current obstacles in STEM using an original idea of ours.

What we learned

We've learned how to use Figma in-depth in a short amount of time and how to navigate a hackathon (this is our first one).
