Inspiration
I wanted to make my lights fun and have them work with my Sonos speakers to create the ultimate home disco!
What it does
- Select a song you want you play from your local library
- Click "Play" to start the song
- Tap the button while following the beat of music
- Phillips Hue light will change color through your beats
- Your beats will be stored into your local storage
- You can retrieve your beats and playback the light beats
- You can edit your existing beats and make the new one
How I built it
- Using xcode to build an app that interfaces with Phillips Hue
- Using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign to build app User Interface
Challenges I ran into
- Ambiguity of Phillips Cue's API makes the debugging process tedious and harder
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
- Successfully interface with Phillips Hue
What I learned
- Learned about API research, ios development, and UI/UX design
What's next for HueBeats
- More features like cross-fading during slow tempo/low amplitude music
- Vibration will be giving as feedback for each tap
- Brightness will be determined by volume
