Preventing disease by better securing and maintaining medical history records.
What it does
Takes patients medical history and gets rid of discrepancies, and helps fill in missing data all while only allowing people to see what HIPPA laws allows.
How we built it
Using BlockChain we take every medical history update as a new block and then when users request info they must authenticate with the server to gain access and be given the redacted or un-redacted info depending on their access.
Challenges we ran into
BlockChain is fairly new and there's tons of info on it however it's a rather complicated idea. Implementing something has personal as medical history records that requires authorization is very difficult.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The visualization of out solution to lamen. Overcoming the issue of dealing with conflicting data. Completing the challenge in almost it's entirety.
What we learned
Learned a lot about HIPPA compliance laws. Along with the entirety of how BlockChain works.
What's next for HudsonAlphaHackathon Challenge #3 Medical History
Scalability. Moving forward from just medical history and to overall medical records for every person to better their medical treatment.
