Inspiration
The team members have played or play a sport called Ultimate (frisbee), so that was the main inspiration for doing a flying disc related game.
What it does
It's a simple game where the objective is to achieve the highest score, by obtaining coins while avoiding obstacles.
How we built it
We used a Phaser framework deployed on Cloud9 plus some minimalist art made on GIMP and Photshop.
Challenges we ran into
It was the first time we used that framework and Cloud9, so we didn't know how to perform a fair amount of tasks. On the art side, the biggest problem was finding a style and sticking to it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We deployed, it's on the web, live, and only in 24 hours.
What we learned
The basics on how to use Phaser framework and Cloud9, some experience on how to do art quickly, to collaborate and communicate better.
What's next for Huck It
Polishing, lot's of it. Saving high-scores on a database, upgrading the art to higher standards and more features and mechanics for the game play.
