Inspiration
Many users often experience adversities that require them to seek guidance via AI chat. HubListen is here to support you, and most importantly, is here to listen! HubListen understands your frequently asked questions surrounding reproduction, mentorship, financial guidance, and culturally sensitive topics. HubListen will provide a safe space for individuals to receive quick unbiased responses.
What it does
Users can input text and questions and receive personality-based responses from the Ai chatbot. User can save their chat history and start new chats. Users can learn more about HubListen by clicking on the “Ask About Me” button.
How we built it
We utilized Javascript, HTML, and CSS technologies to design and style the application and Python, Langchain, and OpenAI for the backend server and data. In addition to this our design team utilized Figma and Canva to bring our vision to life.
Challenges we ran into
If we had more time, we could have interviewed more users before and after product development. It was a challenge integrating the front and the back end.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The vision behind HubListen is to provide members of the LGBTQ+ community with an AI-powered chatbot that that provides unbiased, culturally sensitive support that is tailorable by inputting your desired tone (sassy, funny, fabulous) of the chabot. We take pride in providing our users with a chatbot resource that takes away the robot feel, providing our users with a more individualized chat experience.
What we learned
The creation of HubListen and the Buildathon as a whole served as a memorable learning experience. With a team of 5, this was each member's first time in a Buildathon, and it moves fast! We not only took important keys away from the extremely knowledgable workshops that provided tips on coding in GitHub and designing in Figma, we also learned how to work in a cross-functional team. Some highlights were the high-level planning that goes into product creation, from the hypothesis and research of the need for the product to the added capability to select the chatbot's tone. This project provided the team with an invaluable opportunity to learn, grow, and connect.
What's next for HubListen
The future of HubListen is open to endless possibilities. We are currently looking in to potentially providing our users with a blog-based community that will allow users to share their experiences with the resources and support that HubListen provides. For example, a user will have the ability to share how beneficial a virtual webinar for first-time homebuyers was or how welcoming a local minute clinic was. We look forward to making HubListen your go to AI-powered resource.
