Inspiration
I like food and i didnt really know what to do, initially i wanted to mix the stuff with mental health but it sounded hard and none of us are nutritional biologists or neurobiologists so we just kinda went with the social network idea because im in data structures and we just did some stuff with graphs so i was like, "why not, man?"
What it does
it really doesn't do much, i think it has a login page, some kind of database structure that may take foods, i think it has pages which display things, it has no true backend functionality of a social network
How we built it
initially we were using frameworks and stuff we knew nothing about, then we scrapped the whole thing and used figma to html converter to just auto generate a ton of webpages, then we scrapped that and used something else.
Challenges we ran into
one of our group members had been to like 15 hackathons and so there was a skill differential between us and him that rendered us dead weight, hence why when he left we had to redo stuff, basically there was a 'skill issue' as colloquially referred to by youth members of online communities.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud to still be here, considering for most the humiliation of our situation would render them unable to finish. On some level, we're proud to be humbled by the experience, and we feel that it proves we have a place in this field due to our grit, perseverance, and the spirit of American ingenuity in the face of impossible odds on the metaphorical frontier
What we learned
We learned much of teamwork and the importance of compromise. We learned also what we do not know, opening the floodgates for further learning experiences.
What's next for hub 4 grub
ideally nothing, this project will disappear into the ether after this event, never to be remembered again, like the blur of a dissociative fugue state.
