Inspiration
Many existing random spinner tools are flooded with advertisements or force users to sign up. I wanted to build a lightweight, privacy-friendly spinning wheel that everyone can open and use immediately without any barriers.
What it does
Spinning Wheel Tool is a browser-based random picker. Users input custom options, adjust visual styles, and spin the wheel to get fair random results. It works for lucky draws, classroom name selection, game choices and daily decision making. No registration, no hidden fees and zero ads.
How we built it
The website is built with vanilla HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Canvas and web animation power the smooth spinning effect. Responsive layout ensures good experience on desktop, tablet and mobile phones. All calculations run locally inside users' browsers to protect privacy.
Challenges we ran into
Tuning natural physical animation for the wheel rotation took lots of testing. Balancing visual performance while keeping the webpage lightweight was another difficulty. We optimized animation logic to avoid lag on low-end mobile devices.
What we learned
This project improved my skills of web animation and responsive front-end design. I learned how to implement smooth physics-based motion purely with native JavaScript without heavy external libraries.
What's next
Future updates will support saving custom wheel templates, result history export and more customizable visual themes.## Inspiration
