This project allows anyone with access to a public blockchain the ability to buy and sell price protection against down-side volatility.
What it does
It is like a traditional financial options contract, but better. It is more flexible and transparent. Anyone can ask for someone to make one, anyone can buy them once their are collateralized.
How I built it
I build it with my team. The current implementation runs on Ropsten and Rinkeby. It was built out at the EthDenver hackathon over three days. The stack is Solidity, Web3, Drizzle, React, and Nodejs.
Challenges I ran into
So many. The biggest issue I face with DApps in React is updating the app. Figuring out when and how to make sure the app is displaying the most current state of the contract always proves challenging, especially with block times.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
It works. It works today!
What I learned
The greatest lesson I learned on this project is that team work makes the dream work. We could not have built the DApp with out the input and energy from all hands.
