Inspiration I wanted to make money management simple. FinTrack helps people track their money and understand where it goes. What it does FinTrack lets users: • Add income and expenses • Set budgets • Manage categories • Track payment methods • View their balance • See financial reports • Export their data • Manage their profile and settings How I built it I built FinTrack with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL. JavaScript handles the user interface, PHP connects the app to the database, and MySQL stores the data. Challenges I ran into The main challenges were: • Connecting the frontend to PHP • Managing user login sessions • Connecting PHP to MySQL • Fixing database errors • Making each user's data separate • Making the site work on phones and computers Accomplishments that I'm proud of I am proud that I built a working full-stack app from scratch. Users can create accounts, log in, add transactions, set budgets, and view their financial data. What I learned I learned more about: • Web development • PHP and MySQL • JavaScript • APIs • Database design • User sessions • Debugging • Responsive design What's next for FinTrack I plan to improve FinTrack by adding: • Better mobile design • More reports and charts • Stronger security • More export options • Better user settings • More tools for small businesses
