Inspiration

We all know what it feels like when a friend asks "what do you want?" and you just can't figure out what's good, new or if you'll like what you see. Finding a solution that helps everyone choose their drink.

What it does

VERSA is a sleek mobile app that will give you all the information you need to help you decide what to order or buy when you get any type of beverage. This app is meant to help is users who are on the go and want to save time.

How we built it

We first got our ideas and designs on paper with Figma so we could picture what exactly the app was going to look like. This gave us a great inspiration and guidelines to help develop the app with ease. Bringing it to life in Android Studio was challenging but rewarding when we got to test it out on our own devices. We supported the backend of the app with MySQLite so that the history and preferences of a user would be preserved and so the app would provide even more value to the user.

Challenges we ran into

Translating the designs was a challenge as replicating designs in Android Studio is rather tedious. With time and patience we were able to get through this and get a relatively close product design. As an app that is to be used on the go, design was a really important part of the process.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that as a team of 2 we were able to divide labor and communicate effectively to ensure smooth delegations of tasks. For both of us, this was our first Hackathon and getting through the experience was rewarding in itself.

What we learned

We learned how to manage our time and focus on hitting the key ideas of our product. With such little time to produce a working model we want to make sure that it conveys the solution for the problem that we saw.

What's next for HTN-2020

Applying what we've learned throughout this weekend is the next step for us and the 202 HTN experience. We'll be able to take it with us as we do other Hackathons and work on other projects.
