Inspiration

We had family members who have been hacked as a result of data breaches so that we decided to build something that is better and fixes an issue and raises awareness.

What it does

When a database gets breached, you can see if it was breached through websites like have I been pwned but if you can't remember which password you used, you can't see the plain text. If your password is weak, it will try to get the plaintext from public data breaches that are out in the open and inform you which password and which email was breached.

How we built it

We built it using HTML/CSS/JS and Django for the backend

Challenges we ran into

Some issues with django in the backend but in the end we ended up fixing them.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of providing people with this life hack that could save them a lot of money in the future if they know about the data breach on time.

What we learned

We learned how to work as a team and built something fun as well as how hashes work and how they can be bruteforce with dictionary attracts

What's next for html hackers

We could add additional features where we can automatically send emails when a breach is public but didn't have time for that.
