💡 Inspiration

As passionate designers and technologists, we realized there’s a huge gap between people’s imagination of their dream homes and the actual architectural planning process. Many homeowners struggle with planning, visualization, or understanding Vastu — especially in remote areas.

We wanted to build something that bridges the gap between technology, tradition, and design. That’s how HTK DESIGN & ARCHITECTS was born — a smart AI-driven platform that empowers anyone to access architectural expertise, design their home based on Vastu, and even experience it through AR/VR before construction begins.

🛠️ What it does

HTK DESIGN & ARCHITECTS is a unified platform that allows users to:

  • 📸 Upload land images — and the AI estimates land size and shape using image processing
  • 🧭 Get Vastu-based floor plans generated automatically
  • 🧑‍💼 Book consultations with top architects and designers
  • 🖼️ Submit house/building maps for 2D/3D visualization
  • 🪄 Explore interior layouts in 3D, VR, or AR before construction
  • 💬 Communicate with experts and receive real-time updates
  • 🧠 Use smart tools for sunlight flow, budget estimation, and material optimization

🧱 How we built it

  • Frontend: React.js + Tailwind CSS for a clean and responsive UI
  • Backend: Python + FastAPI
  • Database: Bolt.New for storing consultation data and map uploads

  • AI Integration:

    • Land detection using OpenCV
    • Floor plan suggestions powered by Hugging Face + LangChain

  • AR/VR Experience: Built with WebXR + Three.js for immersive walkthroughs

  • File Upload & Viewer: Users can upload house plans in PDF/JPEG and view them in 2D/3D

  • Map & Location: Integrated with Google Maps for real-world location input

🚧 Challenges we ran into

  • Converting 2D map images to usable 3D AR scenes
  • Training AI to suggest floor plans based on Vastu rules
  • Handling performance for rendering large 3D/AR scenes on low-end devices
  • Managing multiple features in a clean and simple UI
  • Ensuring the platform was useful both for general public and for our own design consultancy firm
