HT6 Stock Display

Inspiration

I was looking for a project I could make that I could have fun with a design, and at the same time develop a strong backend.

What it does

Takes a stock's symbol and scrapes the page for that stock from yahoo! finance to return key info about the stock.

How I built it

I used JavaScript with Express.js, axios, and cheerio.js. Using these I was able to scrape and format the HTML from the original site, and display it on my own.

Challenges I ran into

Due to my schedule with work, I didn't have much time to work on the project and wasn't able to really start until Saturday night, so I decided in advance that I would work alone to not drag anybody else down.
