At home, or in the public space, all of the more than 7 billion inhabitants of the Earth, women, men, children, adolescents or adults, use the toilet at least 6 times a day.

The public space offers toilets equipped with toilet bowls, but the contact of the body with the sanitary objects is still present through -

a - hand actuation of the plastic cover (lifting / lowering),

b - placing the body on the surface of the plastic cover,

c - operating the flush button by hand,

d - operating the door handles by hand,

e – contact of the clothes to the toilet bowl and the floor.

Public toilets are possible places of infection, with unprotected surfaces that come in contact with the human body, containing a large number of microbes and viruses.

There is a great restraint of people in the use of public toilets, which does not provide psychological comfort, similar to that of private space.

The improvisations of each user of the public toilets are generally intimate, among them, the use of toilet paper to cover the toilet bowl being the best known, but not the cleanest, most of the times, after use, the paper is not thrown in the bowl of toilet.

In the context of the current pandemic, hygienic protection on as many coordinates as possible reduces the possibility of infection.

Hygiene in the public space is very important, and taking into consideration how the Coronavirus spreads, special protection measures are required.

What it does

HYTOI is a protection system that offers solutions to eliminate the risk of contamination in public spaces and at home.

  1. AUTOMATIC TOILET SEAT offers - Eliminate direct contact with the toilet through -

a - automation of raising / lowering the plastic toilet seat (wireless control) using a simple mechanical and electronic system (a 12v motor), which acts on a mechanical assembly with balance.

b - touchless operation.

It is made in the variant for home (with lid and hygienic protection with ultraviolet) and for public spaces, without lid, the lid used in public spaces having no utility and being a component that accumulates microbes and viruses.

  1. DISPOSABLE COVER DISPENSER offers - Elimination of body contact with the surface of the toilet seat in public spaces -

a - by using an interface, a single-use biodegradable toilet paper cover,

b - the hygienic cover is taken manually from the dispenser positioned behind the toilet seat and placed on its surface, in conditions of maximum hygiene, without touching the objects that make up the toilet,

c - after use, the biodegradable cover is removed automatically through the water jet,

d - the dispenser is made of injected plastic and has two components.

The disposable cover dispenser for the biodegradable paper toilet roll, can also be used for existing toilets, by detaching the lid, and mounting on the wall behind the toilet bowl.

The two proposals can work individually without being conditioned between them, but they can form an ensemble.

Hygienic protection of the person is ensured during the use of the public toilet.

It ensures the psychological comfort of the person who uses an interface between their body and the sanitary objects, a unique / personal hygienic cover.

Thereby, the spread of the Covid virus is limited.

Reduced costs for purchase and consumables. The estimated cost of a paper hygiene cover is approx. 0.07 Euro.

E.g. For a hospital ward with 50 patients, half women and half men, the daily consumption of toilet covers is approx. 6 / day / person (five for women and 1 for men). Daily consumption = 300 hygienic covers. Monthly consumption = 6,000 hygienic covers. At the estimated price of 0.07 euros / cover, there is a daily cost of 21 euros and a monthly cost of 420 euros.

Tests were performed with functional models / prototype, and a prototype has been working in my studio for a year.

The system is in the 3d design phase for the execution of plastic injection molds, and the biodegradable covers is already executed in small series and used successfully.

The system is easy to make, the costs being low.

Assembly and maintenance are convenient, the simple design offering optimal sanitation conditions.

The large number of products necessary for hygienic protection in the sanitary groups in public spaces (hospitals, schools, airports, railway stations, malls, offices, factories,…) creates the possibility of executing the components at convenient prices.

What's next for HYTOI, hygienic toilet for everybody

We intend to make molds for plastic injection and to order the hygienic covers from biodegradable paper.

For the testing phase, equipping an airport, a hospital pavilion and a school are the first actions we want to perform.

At the same time, we want to develop the application of some solutions that we have in mind, for the other problems -

c - operating the water damper/actuator without touching,

d - solving the access without touching the doors in the toilet space,

e - protection of clothes in relation to the toilet bowl and the floor.

In order to achieve the implementation, it is necessary to support the investment in the execution of the molds, testing and launching the first products, including a promotion campaign.
