HowToMeow!

Inspiration

We were inspired by the need for inclusive support systems for service cat caregivers, especially those new to cat care. Many people depend on their service cats for emotional or medical support but lack the resources and community to properly care for them. HowToMeow! aims to bridge this gap by offering accessible guidance and fostering a community for shared learning.

What it does

HowToMeow! helps service cat caregivers through personalized daily care checklists, a supportive forum, and an AI chatbot for quick answers to common questions. Users can enter cat details for custom care recommendations and connect with others in a safe, inclusive environment.

How we built it

Frontend: HTML, Tailwind CSS, JavaScript (React) AI Chatbot: Gemini API Login/Logout: Clerk React Challenges we ran into Our diverse team adapted to new technologies and each other’s development stacks. Despite some initial challenges, our collaboration and shared dedication helped us achieve our goals with HowToMeow!

We successfully implemented Login/Logout functionality and the AI Chatbot.

What we learned

We had the chance to sit together and work overnight. It was a fun experience, and we all learned a lot from each other, strengthening our collaboration and skills along the way.

What's next for HowToMeow!

After the competition, if given the chance, we would restructure and refine this idea for better production quality because we genuinely believe it could be beneficial for the community we are targeting.
