To set up motion detection on CCTV, you access your NVR/DVR or camera's menu (via app, browser, or screen), navigate to Alarm/Event Settings, enable motion detection for specific cameras, draw detection zones (grids), adjust sensitivity to avoid false alarms (like from trees), and then configure recording schedules to trigger only on motion, saving storage space and ensuring alerts for important events.
