How to Protect Patients from Malnutrition

We are advancing the ways we produce medicine, treatment of patients, and the technology surrounding healthcare. However, nutrition for ill and recovering patients should be taken into consideration.

Inspiration

Increase awareness of nutrition in the hospitals for patients that are dealing with illnesses or are trying to recover. Also, prevent malnutrition in patients.

What it does

Helps nurses and health professionals in the hospitals be able to track the macros, mineral concentrations of patients, and to be able to administer foods that will sufficiently allow the patient to not be malnourished. Utilizing barcodes and a database system, nurses will scan foods out of the cafeteria and then see if a patient is getting the right nutrition or is malnourished.

How we built it

I don't have a running prototype, I don't have much coding experience. So everything that I'm stating is like a startup idea, and no data or results have been made yet.

Challenges that I ran into was conducting the research and gathering all the details to see the effectiveness of my product in the hospitals.

Making the slideshow and learning more about healthcare in hospitals.

What we learned

I learned how to conduct research, how to make an effective startup idea, how to make a prototype idea, and be able to share my findings and conclusions for future reference.

What's next for How to Protect Patients from Malnutrition

The thing that is next for my project is to make an actual prototype in Python that can mimic real time examples in the hospital and be able to follow the goals that I have initially set up for it from the google slides.
