How Dirty Is Your Device?

  Is your device really *that* clean?

Inspiration

I always wanted to create an app that had a practical purpose while simultaneously helping me practice my web dev skills. When I opened my laptop on December 15, 2022 I immediately thought of this idea and knew that Hack Illinois would be the perfect place for this.

What it does

This web application tells users how dirty their devices are (preferably laptops/monitors) and then provides the user with suggestions on how to clean them.

How we built it

Through about 50 ml of blood, sweat, and tears. I also used my laptop wherein I used HTML.

Challenges we ran into

I did not have wifi for the most part when making this application, so I couldn't use stack overflow or google.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that I was able to make my dream come to fruition.

What we learned

This was a really enjoyable experience where I learned how to plan my time well to complete a project.

What's next for How Dirty Is Your Device?

I hope to create a mobile application that is similar to the website but I will save that for Hack Illinois 2024.
