I was watching a documentary about climate change and the proliferation of squid in the Pacific and distinctly remember that one of the takeaways was that people should start eating more squid to help ease this ecosystem imbalance. I started to brainstorm on how people can coordinate their diets with the environmentally needs and was trying to think of a simple starting point. Hence pets.

It is a basic infographic with static information and some minor calls to action. Some challenges I ran into were the vast amounts of unstructured information - there is a need for some curated web services on the issue of ocean management.

It is very simple but I'm proud of the succinctness of the graphic.

Despite being reasonably green I learned a lot about the environment and the impact all of our activities have on it.

What's next for How Cats Can Help Fish is a mobile score card and leaderboard for cat owners to rank themselves on how ocean friendly their cats are - partnerships for raising awareness and rewards will be explored.
