How about robot says hi!

Inspiration

AI today is very goal-oriented, how about robots have some fun? I want an ai that can shoot a basketball but just as easily throw the ball at your face in a playful way. Should ai be serious or can it be an adventure?

What it does

How about robot captures clips and strings them together to do impressive things. It does this by smoothly transitioning between clips that share tags. The magic is in these smooth transitions between selected clips.

How I built it

First thing after creating a virtual environment, I wrote code for the robot to move as I did. These movements are done by linearly interpolating between where the robot is now and where I am. If I move too fast, the robot does not feel bad about taking shortcuts.

I then created a recorder to capture snapshots of me. I named these clips and said, "How about robot acts a clip."

Next, I tagged clips with like tags and let robot transition to a random tagged item. If two clips would be too hard to interpolate between, I let the robot quit.

Extra shiny when tagged clips started feeling like state machines. How about robot plays basketball!

Challenges I ran into

It turns out vector math is hard, luckily my google powers are developed.

Wifi ghosts play tricks on you but preparedness and perseverance to the rescue.

All that was left was the battle with time.
