Inspiration

Our inspiration for Housify came from the desire to simplify and improve the process of finding the perfect home. We recognized the challenges people face when searching for a place to live, and we wanted to create a solution that would make this process more efficient and enjoyable for everyone.

What it does

Housify is a comprehensive real estate platform that allows buyers to search for their homes based on the preferences that they input in their profiles. Their preferences include how many bedrooms they want, how many baths, square footage, budget, and Eco score. On the "Explore" page it allows the buyer to swipe right (yes) or swipe left (no) through the houses that are on the market at their preferred location and fit their profile. We have also implemented a "chat" page so that you are able to ask questions about the property when you "match" with it.

How we built it

We built Housify using a combination of modern web development technologies. The frontend of the website is developed using React.js, which provides a responsive and user-friendly interface.

Challenges we ran into

At the start of planning out our website, we wanted to optimize a backend to handle API requests to import live data from a real-estate marketplace company. Unfortunately, in order to access the API from these companies, we needed a Multiple Listing Service (MLS) number or real estate license.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are immensely proud of several accomplishments achieved during the development of Housify. First, we successfully created an easy and convenient way that simplifies the real estate experience for our users. Additionally, we implemented advanced algorithms that provide precise property recommendations, helping users find their dream homes faster. Finally, we are proud of our team's dedication and collaborative efforts in bringing Housify to life.

What we learned

Developing Housify was a valuable learning experience for our team. We gained a deeper understanding of real estate markets and the complexities involved in property transactions. Additionally, we honed our skills in frontend development and database design. We also learned the importance of effective teamwork, communication, and project management in delivering a successful product.

What's next for Housify

Looking ahead, we have ambitious plans for Housify's future. We aim to expand our platform to cover a wider range of geographical locations, providing users with access to an even larger pool of properties. We also plan to introduce additional features such as virtual property tours, real-time market analytics, and personalized recommendations based on user preferences. Furthermore, we will continue to prioritize user feedback and iterate on our platform to enhance the overall user experience. Ultimately, our goal is to establish Housify as the go-to destination for all things related to real estate, making the process of finding and securing a home even more seamless and enjoyable for everyone.
