Inspiration

looking around my lounge room while trying to think about what LLMs can do and how to build an app around that.

What it does

recommends 3 options for houseplants based on the user entered conditions.

How we built it

With Amazon PartyRock.

Challenges we ran into

Restrictions on what PartyRock can do, the only real options are to pass a user input to an LLM. My first few ideas involved trying to create some kind of game but I found that the LLM was pretty inconsistent at keeping the score. So I looked for something that it would be better at and came up with this idea. I also was getting some pretty irrelevant images being generated and had to dial in the prompt to get something more consistently what I was looking for.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

getting the image generator to pretty consistently show an image of what the plant would actually look like

What we learned

I think that PartyRock would be a lot more interesting if there was a way to implement some simple coding ideas such as "&&", "| |", "if", and loops, maybe like how they are implemented in scratch.

What's next for houseplant recommendation app

I may try to add some more features especially if some of the coding ideas above are implemented into PartyRock.
